Gregory Roshan

Born in Argentina 26th February 1958. From his early childhood he is in contact with brushes and colours, his father is a textile designer.

He studies Design and Visual Communication at the University in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Studies that he continued and deepen in Cologne, Germany were he moves to in 1980.

Since 1984 he dedicates himself to painting. He travels around the world, principally to India, were he comes to experience different techniques of meditation and self-knowledge, deep experiences that are reflected in his work.

His technique is on the same time simple and mysterious, acrylic paint and other materials are extended on the canvas with the use of spatulas, in multiples layers, creating transparencies, lights and shadows.

His work tell as about the macro and the micro-cosmos, about the detail in the whole and the whole in the detail. Some of his paintings are reflecting inner spaces that could be called mystic, others are reflecting strength and a intense search throughout an harmony of colours and forms that transcend the regular aesthetics of the masses.

Roshan lived in the community of Pacha Mama, in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Where he shared his work as an artist and as therapist with people from around the world.
